RCIA
Are you interested in becoming Catholic or completing your initiation into the Catholic Church? Please consider joining us for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program. The RCIA is an engaging, dynamic, respectful, challenging and - ENJOYABLE journey. St. Valentine & St. Mary Parishes offer the RCIA program in conjunction with other parishes in the Illinois Valley area. The classes are on Sunday evenings, beginning in September and concluding at the Easter Vigil Mass (usually in March or April).
This program is for those who have not been baptized. The program also serves those who were baptized in a non-Catholic Christian community and now wishes to become Catholic. Finally, the program also allows those Catholics who have been baptized, but not confirmed, to complete their Christian initiation by being confirmed.
If you are interested in registering for this program, or if you know someone who is interested in exploring Catholicism through the RCIA program, please call the Pastor at 815-223-0315.
The program begins as a period of inquiry and then asks for more commitment as the times for the Rite of Election and Initiation Rites at Easter approach.
