Weddings
A wedding is a solemn religious event. It is one of those rare moments in life when you gather with all the people you cherish and, in so doing, express what it means to be married in Christ. Consequently, your wedding ceremony is much more than the exchange of vows and the giving of rings. It is a ritual filled with music, symbols, family, friends, and the rich tradition of our Faith.
God richly blesses and seals the love of husband and wife in the celebration of the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. Together with the Diocese of Peoria, our parishes wish to offer engaged couples all the tools and resources available to enter into a successful and blessing-filled marriage in Christ.
Is there any institution that serves the flourishing and enrichment of humanity better than traditional marriage; that is, the natural family?
Let us support all that is good, beautiful, and true about traditional marriage; namely, that marriage is meant to be for life… to be lived in total fidelity… and to be generously open to the transmission of human life.

Diocesan Regulations require that Couples wishing to receive the Sacrament of Matrimony meet with their Parish Priest at least 4 months before the wedding. Please contact the Pastor at 815-223-0315.

Recently the Peoria Diocesan Planning Commission has declined to accept the Cluster's Suggestion to maintain three parishes in Peru. Instead, the Commission is recommending that St. Valentine and St. Mary Parishes be merged into a new parish located at the current site of St. Valentine Church.
